Epilepsy Toronto Team was a Featured Charity at this Year's Toronto Waterfront Marathon!

On Sunday, September 30th, over 150 Epilepsy Toronto Team Members came out to walk or run together, in support of the epilepsy community. We had a strong presence, both visually and in spirit. At one point even the Mayor David Miller noticed our energetic team and gave us a special greeting!

And the great news doesn't stop there......Epilepsy Toronto was awarded the grand prize of $7,500 from Scotiabank for being the Top Fundraiser for this event. That's right, Epilepsy Toronto raised $87,500 - the most out of any charity participating! With our grand prize and some additional revenue from coat check that all "featured charities" split, we have raised $97,500, more than double what we expected.

We couldn't be more proud of our members and what we have accomplished together. It was nice that out of so many worthy causes or medical conditions, epilepsy was at the forefront. Our team was most definitely noticed throughout the entire competition that started many months ago and especially on race day! We are certain that aside from raising much needed funds, we raised awareness of this disorder as well. Thank you to all who participated and we hope we can count on your next year!
