“BuskerFest is produced by Epilepsy Toronto with the support of our title sponsor Scotiabank. Over the last ten years, we have raised almost one million dollars for Epilepsy Toronto," says Geoff Bobb, Executive Director of Epilepsy Toronto. "One in 100 people have epilepsy, that's twice as many people who have cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, and cystic fibrosis combined. Thanks to the generosity of the BuskerFest spectators, this amazing festival helps raise the funds we need to support people in Toronto living with epilepsy.” BuskerFest is all about fun and entertainment and its also the biggest epilepsy awareness event in the world, with brochures, games, displays and an Epilepsy Info Booth providing visitors with news and information about epilepsy and the people it affects. Each year, BuskerFest attracts over 1 million spectators who are amazed by world renown performers doing things like extreme bicycle tricks; risky aerial stunts; comic contortions; rock and roll puppetry; thrilling fire juggling and interactive break dancing - all to the tune of folk, rock and global music. The festival includes vendors selling treasures from around the world, one-of-a-kind crafts and must-have purchases that you've never seen before. Food stalls offer everything from funnel cakes to souvlaki to roasted corn. Kids will have a blast at Scotiabank BuskerPlay, which features face painting, balloon twisting, puppets, bubbles, workshops and shows geared especially to the family audience. All for free!!! Admission to BuskerFest is free with a voluntary donation to Epilepsy Toronto paid at the gates. Whatever goes into the buskers' hats, goes to the buskers.
