Our Adult Services Director specializes in empowering clients with the resources and tools they need to cope with their condition and improve their quality of life. We provide support in times of crisis and in the times in between; both individually and in small groups.

People with epilepsy often express feelings of isolation. Often, they don't know many (or any) other person with epilepsy. Our groups provide individuals with a shared sense of support and connection. In the groups, people have an opportunity to talk about their worries and learn strategies for living full and happy lives while managing their epilepsy optimally. Epilepsy Toronto facilitates a variety of adult support groups including the following.

SUPPORT GROUPS
  • AWEC - Adults with Epilepsy Connection
  • Support Group for Professionals
  • Pregnant or Expecting Mothers Group
  • Partners of People with Epilepsy Group
  • Friday Recreational Group

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING SERVICES
Our Adult Services counsellor provides professional counselling for a wide range of personal and relationship issues. Counselling and services offered aim to empower clients with the support, resources and tools they need to cope with their condition and improve their quality of life. Whatever challenges you are facing as an adult living with epilepsy, our Adult Services counsellor is here to help you.

COUPLE AND FAMILY COUNSELLING SERVICES
Epilepsy Toronto provides support to families and couples facing the stress caregivers sometimes experience when living with a person impacted by epilepsy. The daily attention required can become difficult or stressful, and we recognize the need to support the caregivers as much as those who need their care.

Participation in our Support Groups is free and we welcome one and all. If you would like to join a Support Group or would like individual or family counselling, please contact Rosie Smith - Director, Adult Services at rsmith@epilepsytoronto.org
