Epilepsy Youth Campaign - BE HEARD!
Welcome to the Epilepsy Youth Challenge. This is the place where you get to be heard. This is your time to tell us what living with epilepsy is like: the good, the bad and the ugly. Maybe you're tired of all the incorrect info on epilepsy out there. You think stigma stinks! Maybe you were made fun of because you had a seizure in class, at a friend's house or on the bus. Or maybe you have a great friend who really understands and is totally cool with the fact that you have seizures. We want to hear it all. If you've got your own distinct ideas on what youth need to know about epilepsy then let's hear it! This is your chance to be heard.
Why should you get involved? Hey, as frustrating as stigma and misunderstanding of epilepsy can be, we are not helpless! We can do our part to educate people and create more awareness. If you join the Epilepsy Youth Challenge you are choosing to do something positive that will make a difference. The first step is to be heard.
How do you join the Epilepsy Youth Challenge?
Fill out this application, and introduce yourself. Share your story and some experiences you've had. Be sure to list any ideas you have about how to educate other youth. Your ideas are important!
Would you like an all expense paid trip to Toronto? By sharing your story and ideas you may be selected to attend the Epilepsy Youth Challenge conference in Toronto, from August 22 -24th , 2008 . This all expense paid getaway weekend will give you a chance to meet other youth with epilepsy, work on our campaign to teach others about this disorder and enjoy the world-class street festival known as Toronto Buskerfest (www.torontobuskerfest.com) that celebrates Epilepsy! You don't want to miss it!
What are you waiting for? Fill out this application, share your idea and be heard!
